Gavel & Dorn Engineering is an independent engineering consulting firm based in Denver, North Carolina. Founded in 2003, the firm provides a broad range of services in the areas of civil, water resources, structural, and environmental engineering, with clients ranging from individuals to large municipalities and industries.
Gavel & Dorn Engineering implements a business model that is unique in the technical consulting business. We use a combination of full-time staff coupled with a confederation of top-notch freelance technical talent. Gavel & Dorn Engineering has found that this approach best manages overhead costs and provides the ability to better customize project teams to a given project's needs. In addition to individual freelance specialists, the firm also has established partnering relationships with other specialty firms that provide complementary services. The combination of full-time and part-time staff and partnering arrangements with other complementary engineering service companies enables us to provide responsive, cost effective service on a wide variety of projects from small to large.
Gavel & Dorn Engineering is and will always be a pure consultancy. The firm is unencumbered by any interests other than those of our clients. We have no ties to contractors, equipment manufacturers or vendors, commercial software developers, or proprietary technologies. GE is a certified Small Business Enterprise (SBE) in the City of Charlotte, and the firm is registered with the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Engineers and Land Surveyors and the South Carolina State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Surveyors.
